Storyboard

Storyboards illustrate significant life events. To help you deliver person-centered care, we listen to residents and their social circle (families, friends, and the care team). We learn about current and past experiences and personal interests. These become the building blocks for constructing the person-centered storyboard (see below) and the personalized interventions we create.

Creating personalized storyboards

We listen to residents’ stories and pay attention to verbal and non-verbal expressions to find salient and personal media that trigger positive memories. We then include family photos and provide images and music from our collection to match each individual’s life history. In our experience, residents’ families often become very engaged in the process.

Using storyboards

Access life history through storyboards at any time. Just touch the SimpleC Companion’s screen and select from the choices available. Or, spotlight individuals and their interest in the common areas to facilitate conversation.

Example: Converse about or reminisce over a childhood spent in Boston.
