Companion Overview

SimpleC uses behavioral technology as a non-drug alternative to support function and quality of life. We work with you, your loved one, and the community care team to determine how we can best help. Whether it is helping feel at home, making friends in the community, managing mood through the day, increasing appetite, or helping to get a restful night’s sleep, we have something for everyone. Our solution is adaptable and can support a range of seniors’ needs:

  • We can improve the daily lives of seniors who live independently and experience normal changes that occur over the lifespan.
  • We can also provide more involved support for individuals with depression or dementia.

SimpleC's Solution consists of:

  • Behavioral technology, called the Companion, one devoted solely to your loved one
  • Personal storyboards to share life history and personal interests
  • Personalized interventions to provide memory and behavioral support as needed
  • SocialC to connect seniors to the social media network

Benefits

  • Improve communication and social interaction
  • Decrease dependence on drugs
  • Increase engagement
  • Increase sense of identity and confidence
  • Provide a higher level of care
  • Simple to use
  • Based in science

Our process

We gather general information about your loved one’s schedule and recurring activities, their life history, and specific needs for behavioral support (if applicable). We then combine this information with various media (photos, music, voice recordings) and test it for positive effect.

We have an extensive collection of images and music to quickly get you started, which you can supplement with family photos and recordings of your own voice.

The result is:

  • Personal storyboards for each individual, that is, illustrations and soundtracks that ”help me tell my story”
  • Your therapy remote-control, that is, a collection of personalized care interventions for your care staff to help complete care services

Key components

Key components of SimpleC interventions are derived from long-standing concepts in scientific literature such as reminiscence, music, reality orientation, and Trusted Voice. Interventions are delivered wirelessly to your loved one’s SimpleC Companion based on a schedule and on-demand.

  • Reminisce over past and present pictures meaningful to your loved one
  • Share interests and life stories anytime as desired
  • Another way to start conversations

  • Listen to music that your loved one knows and likes
  • Listen to music that comforts, energizes, or calms

  • Hear your familiar, trusted voice when you cannot be there
  • Hear your calming voice that reminds your loved one where s/he is and what to do next
