Storyboard

Storyboards illustrate significant life events. We listen to your loved one, family, friends, and care team. We learn about current and past experiences and personal interests. These become the building blocks for constructing the person-centered storyboard (see below) and the personalized interventions we create.

Creating personalized storyboards

When we listen to your loved one’s stories, we pay attention to verbal and non-verbal expressions to find salient and personal media that trigger positive memories. We then include family photos and provide images and music from our collection to match the individual life history. In our experience, families often become very engaged in the process.

Using storyboards

Access life history through storyboards at any time. Just touch the SimpleC Companion’s screen and select from the choices available. Long-term care communities can also spotlight individuals and their interest in the common areas to facilitate conversation and introduce new members to the community.

Example: Converse or reminisce over growing up in Boston.

With our personal storyboards,

your loved one can:

  • reminisce over past and current experiences
  • share his/her interests
  • start conversations

At the same time, the care team can get to know and better relate to your loved one.
